Being alone with oneself in nature for a designated period of time is one of the most ancient practices of self-awareness and spiritual growth known to humankind.  Time spent alone outside teaches us many things, especially about ourselves.  The EarthWalk is an opportunity to spend a day alone with the living world, under the guidance of experienced vision quest guides and with the support of a community of other women.  As you venture out onto the Earth with a question about or intention for your life, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know who you are in new and authentic ways.

On the day of your EarthWalk, we’ll gather at dawn and share our intentions for the day. Your guides will prepare you to meet the challenges of this experience and to receive the benefits and gifts of your time alone on the earth.  Then you will journey into the natural world on your own, learning to listen to your instincts and look to the living world for teachings about your life.  When we come together again at the end of the day, each participant will have an opportunity to share the story of her journey.  Your guides will then reflect and confirm the gifts you received during your solo time.

For those considering a Vision Quest, the EarthWalk is a perfect introduction to nature-based healing practices.  It is also beneficial for anyone who wants to re-establish her connection with the living world.

About Your EarthWalk Guides

For Susan Hagen and Skye Bailey, the vision quest has become an annual journey that clarifies and informs their ives. Since 1999, they’ve trained under the mentorship of Wilderness Rites founder Anne Stine and are proficient in earth-based healing practices and wilderness survival skills.  In addition, each has brought the teachings of the vision quest into her life’s work. Susan leads nature-based StoryCircles and writing retreats for women and is co-author of Women at Ground Zero: Stories of Courage and Compassion.  Skye is the founder of Little Arrows Schools, fine art and environmental education programs for people 0-6, focusing on sustainable living and self-expression in Marin County, California.
